The Gulf Regional Area Stroke Programs (GRASP) Consortium is a collaborative research effort between sites located in Houston, New Orleans, and San Antonio, and intends to serve the needs of an incredibly diverse population of patients in Texas and Louisiana.

GRASP will conduct high quality clinical research devoted to identifying new treatments in stroke prevention, acute stroke management, and stroke recovery. 

The consortium consists of a full complement of clinical and research professionals and world-class facilities dedicated to cerebrovascular disease. 

GRASP will be directed by the UT-Houston Stroke Program, which has been a leader in clinical trials testing new treatments for stroke and brain hemorrhage for the past 25 years.  The stroke programs at Tulane University Hospital and UT San Antonio are partnering in a well-organized group of connected sites all linked by a history of productive collaboration.
