The Wake Forest StrokeNet is led by Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSOM), a pioneer in research to improve transitional care and outcomes after stroke. WFUSOM has partnered with sites in the region and across Advocate Health to develop this comprehensive network, which includes 4 of the 6 Comprehensive Stroke Centers in North Carolina in the middle of the Stroke Belt region.
Together, WFUSOM (regional coordinating center), Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Atrium Health Carolinas Rehab Northeast, Novant Forsyth Medical Center, and Advocate Christ Hospital in Chicago work together to successfully implement StrokeNet trials and design new stroke treatment trials from acute presentation to rehabilitation. The referral and telestroke outreach of our network includes both urban and rural areas, including the Piedmont region, nearly all of NC west of the Piedmont, part of southern Virginia, and Chicago.
The Wake Forest StrokeNet RCC participates in: ARCADIA, ARCADIA-CSI, ASPIRE, CAPTIVA, CREST-2, CREST-H, FASTEST, MOST, SATURN, Sleep SMART, TRANSPORT2, and VERIFY.
